DN42 (Decentralized Network 42) is a large dynamic VPN overlay network that employs Internet technologies such as BGP, WHOIS database, and DNS. Participants connect to each other using tunnels (WireGuard, OpenVPN, GRE, IPsec) and exchange routes using BGP.

Network addresses are assigned in the 172.20.0.0/14 (IPv4) and fd00::/8 (IPv6 ULA) ranges, with private AS numbers 4242420000 - 4242423999. As of now, DN42 has 2686 ASes, 2561 IPv4 route prefixes and 2641 IPv6 route prefixes.

DN42 is also interconnected with NeoNetwork, ICVPN, ChaosVPN, CRXN and other overlay networks.
